Rooted on unceded Wiyot land in Eureka (Jaroujii), CA, I’m Zena Bardelas - a multidisciplinary artist and creative professional with a passion for visual storytelling and meaningful design. I bring a rich blend of experience in art, illustration, graphic design, branding, video editing, and layout design, grounded in a deep understanding of how creative work can connect people, build communities, and spark transformation.
My creative journey has been anything but traditional. Before fully immersing myself in digital media and design, I dedicated over 16 years to a private practice in Chinese Medicine and Asian Bodywork Therapy - a path grounded in years of rigorous study, hands-on healing, and holistic philosophy. That experience trained me to listen deeply, think systemically, and approach every project with intention, compassion, and respect for complexity - values that still guide every aspect of my creative process today.
Whether I'm crafting a brand identity, editing a compelling video, illustrating a concept, designing layouts, or getting my hands messy with traditional art supplies, I approach every project with curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to excellence. I love collaborating with entrepreneurs, small businesses, nonprofits, and women-led ventures to uncover and express their unique voice through thoughtful design that reflects their mission and values.
As a returning student pursuing an Interdisciplinary Studies BA, with a focus on therapeutic art and community health, I’m especially passionate about the intersection of creativity and wellness. I believe art has the power to heal, empower, and build bridges, especially in times of personal or collective transformation.
On June 30, 2025, I was honored to receive the Ingrid Nickelsen Trust Award for my work featured in the juried exhibition at the Floyd Bettiga Gallery - an award given to recognize and uplift women artists whose work reflects courage, spirit, and authenticity. This recognition deeply affirmed my commitment to creating art that resonates with purpose and emotional depth.
